Beta blockers are frequently used in cardiology, and this review article recently published in the Korean Circulation Journal gives a critical appraisal of the available evidence for the use of beta blockers in patients with HF, coronary artery disease, hypertension and atrial fibrillation (AF). This article proposes that, in paroxysmal AF, beta blockers have the potential to induce recurrent episodes of AF.
